Description: In July 2020 @curriegoat posted an eye catching three piece matching set. The design caught my eye, it was fiery but calming. @curriegoat is an amazing artist I admire he does cut and sew pieces with bold one of a kind designs that he hand painted or embroidered. He has now started to print his designs to bring to the masses even in doing so the integrity and quality of the art still remains. As soon as I saw the drop it jolted me with inspiration. It was 10am ice coffee ingested and my tongue was searching for sweetness. From the color combo to how genuine @curriegoat comes across online it only seemed fitting to make a sweet dish. I went through my kitchen to see what ingredients I had and thought to make a almond cupcake to compliment the beige in the bold dog beast design with an orange zested chocolate frosting and to embody the famed puffed up embroidery to add roughly chopped walnuts and chocolate sprinkles to top. (Recipe:) (this is a half a batch recipe makes 5 cupcakes) (this is the I live solo quarantine amount) First lets make the body the almond cake. I grab my eggs and GRANULATED (wink) sugar and whisk together until combined then I add my favorite, almond extract and melted butter, again whisk all until combined. In another bowl stir together the flour, baking powder and salt. Add half of the flour mix to the eggs and sugar combine. Then add the milk whisk again until well combined. THEN add the rest of the flour mix. Don’t over whisk just make sure the batter has no clumps and all is a silky cohesive thick soup texture. Line the muffin tins and spray with non stick or butter. Pour the batter and divide evenly in the 5 muffin cups should be about 3/4 full. Bake. Let cool. Now time for the “frosting” to do a double boiler place a pot on the stove medium heat filled with a half of cup of water and place a fitting bowl on top. Add the chocolate chips and heavy cream. Continue to turn with a nonstick spatula. Add the zest and squeezed juice of an orange. Continue to mix until melted and silky. Take off of the stove and frost your cups. Roughly chop the walnuts and sprinkle on together with sprinkles. Now enjoy your almondy-orangey-chocolatey cupcake while browsing @currigoats designs.

Oven: 350 degrees

Bake: 12-15 min

Ingredients:  1 large egg, 1/4 cup granulated sugar, 1/2 cup all purpose flour, 1/2 teaspoon baking powder, 1/8 teaspoon salt, 2 teaspoons almond extract, 4 tablespoons butter melted and cooled, 1/4 cup milk whole or 2% works best.

Frosting: one cup of semisweet chocolate chips, 1/4 cup of heavy cream (milk works as well), one orange zested and squeezed. 1/4 chopped walnuts, sprinkles.
